Compression DriverThe 1 inch exit neodymium high frequency compression driver has been designed for situations where the highest quality is required. Equipped with unique Phase Plug architecture, the driver has been designed to give high level manufacturing consistency and a smooth coherent wavefront at the horn entrance across the whole working frequency range. The phase plug short openings and high flare rate value assure low distortion, showing remarkable improvements in mid-high frequency reproduction. The diaphragm assembly is composed of a titanium dome sandwiched to a proprietary treated polyester suspension. This design maintains low resonance and lowers the minimum crossover point value to 1.6kHz. An edge-wound aluminum voice coil, wound on proprietary treated Nomex, completes the diaphragm assembly. Nomex shows a 30% higher value of tensile elongation at a working operative temperature (200°C) when compared to Kapton. Moreover, this proprietary former material is also suitable for use in high moisture content environments. The powerful neodymium magnet assembly has been designed to obtain 20 KGauss in the gap giving major benefits in transient response. A copper ring on the pole piece reduces inductance above 10 kHz, improving phase and impedance linearization. The custom designed O-ring creates a tight seal between the plate and the cover assuring air chamber loading. Excellent heat dissipation and thermal exchange are guaranteed by the direct contact between the magnetic structure and the aluminum cover which leads to a lower power compression value. The ability to perform properly under inclement weather conditions is a key feature. Hence, in addition, a special treatment has been applied to the magnet and the top and back plates of the magnetic structure making the driver more resistant to the corrosive effects of salts and oxidization. This treatment is more effective than any other treatment used by other manufacturers.

WooferThe 1202 woofer is a 300mm (12 in) neodymium transducer. The neodymium magnet assures a high flux concentration, low power compression and excellent heat exchange since the external magnet configuration is considerably more efficient than traditional under-pole magnet topology. The direct contact between the large heat sink and the specially designed basket, together with the magnetic structure, represents a fundamental improvement in thermal connection and heat dissipation. The result is increased power handling capabilities and lower power compression. The deep profile curvilinear cone, made from a special high strength wood pulp, has been designed to achieve the best possible linearity within its frequency range. The cone surround, made from linen material is highly resistant to aging and fatigue. The cone treatment is fully water repellent and also gives a significant degree of rigidity to the cone. The 75 mm Interleaved Sandwich Voice coil (ISV) assembly is wound on a strong fiberglas former which improves force transmission and thermal power handling. A special coating applied to both the top and back plates makes the 1202 far more resistant to the corrosive effects of salts and oxidization.

WooferThe Kangal series feature high-end aircoils and MKP capacitors.

The 1202 features two vents in the backside, which can be opened or closed depending on usage. We recommend to open one or two vents for stand-alone use. When used as top speaker in a PA configuration with a sub bass system we recommend to close both vents.

Compression DriverThe 1.4 inch exit neodymium high frequency compression driver has been designed for use in high quality sound systems. The pure titanium diaphragm has been developed to assure unmatched transient response. The diaphragm assembly is made by joining the former directly to the titanium dome using its upper bend edge. In comparison with a usual straight former joint, the driver design assures extended frequency energy transfer giving improved response linearity and unparallel reliability. This feature facilitates proper motion control of the dome in real working conditions. A proprietary treated Nomex former is used as Nomex shows a 30% higher value of tensile elongation at a working operative temperature (200°C) when compared to Kapton. Moreover, this proprietary former material is also suitable for use in high moisture content environments. By carefully using elementary pieces of neodymium magnets, The engineers have developed a powerful neodymium magnet assembly capable of reaching 19KGauss in the gap in compact and lightweight structures. The motor structure, throughout the precisely coherent phase plug with 3 circumferential slots and copper ring on the pole piece, reduces inductance effects and distortion. Four top plate air ducts have been designed to act as a loading chamber for the diaphragm, implementing mid band distortion and response figures. The custom designed O-ring creates a tight seal between the plate and the cover assuring air chamber loading. Excellent heat dissipation and thermal exchange are guaranteed by the direct contact between the magnetic structure and the aluminum cover which leads to a lower power compression value. The ability of equipment to perform properly under inclement weather conditions is a key feature.
